I have decided to store links and bits of information on the various software and tools that I find useful. I assume that most will be free as in freedom sort of offerings though some may come with an actual sticker price.

Anyhow, I expect to write some blogs regarding these tools at some point in the future. In the mean time it is a good reference for me.

Eclipse - http://eclipse.org - Amazing open source development environment written in Java. Capable of doing nearly everything I need beware that you may find yourself overwhelmed by the available features, plug-ins, and of course the lovely ability to extend it on your own.

Open Office - http://openoffice.org - Open source, standards compliant, open-document office suite originating from Sun Microsystems.

Star Office - http://sun.com - Sun Microsystems version of Open Office costing about 70 bucks USD. I read earlier this week though that it is available from Google for free via http://pack.google.com

ISO Recorder - http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm - If you have never needed to burn an ISO you should research a bit into such things as live cds which, among other things, can save your computer when shit hits the fan.

Rescue CD - http://www.sysresccd.org/Download - And here you go! Your chance to burn an ISO to rescue your system! I swear that was not planned out that way. Yea, right.

Much more to come when I find the time. Aloha.
